It is my second trip to Hong Kong this year and my fourth. Many people like to ask why I keep going to HK. I feel that why must I have a reason? I am attracted to the HK vibe and the old buildings. The flight here is affordable, it is safe, I am familiar with this place. Of course it is nice to visit new country, but not when I don’t have the mood to plan and research about the place. Actually, if I can afford, I wish to go London every year as it is my favourite city. Anyway, if you insist, I come HK again because my other half is a Hong Konger 😀 We are back for ‘Christmas break’.
It was a smooth day. I paid more to take Singapore Airline and I feel really pampered. With the seat screen, 4 hours flew by when I watched 2 movies. The spacial seat is comfortable, the service is nice 🙂 Most importantly, there’s check-in luggage and FOOD!
Then immigration was fast as there was no crowd. I also love that HK has the Airport Express buses that bring you right to your neighbourhood. Without traffic, I always reach my hotel/home under 40 minutes. By the way, my other half lives at Causeway Bay, what a fantastic location!
After putting down our bags, we went out for shopping. Along the way, I tried to take photos with my Fuji X-pro2. I am still not used to this camera. I guess I must shoot more with it. Today, HK is slightly unfriendly with me for street snaps because I was SO SLOW with my X-pro2.
I am not a huge shopper in Hong Kong because I don’t want to get the shock of my life when I receive my credit card bill. Haha… However, I do love patronise this book store called the “Cheng Pin Eslite”. They are huge! It’s like Kinokuniya in Ngee Ann City but 3-4 storeys.
Then I saw a photobook by Fan Ho, ‘The Living Theatre‘. I was so amazed by his photos, they were taken during the oldern days of Hong Kong. His photos are nicely composed, and by first look, I can feel connected to them even though I don’t live in those era. This book will be my next buy!
After that, we came home for dinner and chill a little. That’s why I got time for this post 🙂
