I am so excited to hear that there will be an exhibition featuring more works from my most favourite late-photography master: Fan Ho or Ho Fan (何潘).
Then I turned disappointed instantly that the exhibition only lasts from 13 June till 30 June 2017, in Hong Kong. Argh!
I believe his last book will launch during this period too. The report says it’s a total different style of photography by Fan Ho. Whatever style it is, his works were just amazing!
Read the news here.
If you are in Hong Kong or will be in Hong Kong during this period, lucky you! The exhibition will also be featuring (I think) the Rolleiflex he used for most of his award-winning shots. And the Rolleiflex has been with him since he was 18 till 80 years old.
One of his documentaries also mentioned that Fan Ho didn’t care about gear, he only cared about making good photos. That makes me guilty.
Anyway, I realised the trend of many late-photographers only shoot with one camera their whole life/project. This once again say that we need to understand our gears fully. And also to show that they don’t pay attention to the camera but on how to capture moments.
By the way, if you happened to be in Hong Kong from now till 30 June 2017, please go to the exhibition!
