Humans are naturally drawn to cute animals. So, it’s smart for people to open animal cafes because if you suck at making coffee and food, people still patronise.
Little Zoo Cafe
What’s special about Bangkok’s Little Zoo Cafe is that they have exotic animals, such as meerkat, fox, raccoon, chinchilla and a few others.
The price of the food & dessert is inexpensive (compared to Singapore of course). We ordered 2 desserts and a cup of latte for only about $20 in total. And you can pat all the animals! The staff are very friendly.
I spoke to the staff and they said lots and lots of Singaporeans and Malaysians visit the cafe! (Joke: because we never see animals before, lol).
How to get there
Unfortunately, Little Zoo Cafe is not located in Central Bangkok and you can only go there via Taxi, Uber or if you drive.
Somehow, taking Uber in Bangkok is more expensive than (three times more) taxi…
Well, perhaps because we can speak Thai so they don’t go round and round just to increase the meter fare.
Anyway, we went there via taxi, about 15 minutes drive, and it only cost 150 Baht (SGD6). We reached the cafe around 2pm on a Monday, so the cafe was less crowded.
Thus allowing me to have the whole attention of the animals, especially the meerkats.
We left around 4pm, which was disastrous. As it was nearing peak hour, all taxi seemed to disappear from the world. We had no choice but to use Uber. And it took 1 hour for the Uber to reach us due to the infamous massive jam in Bangkok.
Hence, if you want to go to this Little Zoo Cafe, I suggest depart Bangkok around 10-11am. Spend time with the animals for about 1-2 hours. Leave the place before 3pm. You should be able to avoid the peak-hour jam.
I love meerkat!
Personally, I think the best animals there are meerkats! They love humans!
When you sit down, they naturally come to cuddle with you. They fell asleep on my lap!
Meerkats love to dig. So, they will dig your skin (my tummy and thighs). And they also dig (scratch) my camera -_-
To sum up, raccoon’s fur is quite rough. I dare not touch the fox. I am allergic to dogs so I didn’t pat the corgi.
Parrot’s feathers are soft. Chinchilla is so fluffy, even fluffier and softer than a fury cat.
Thumbs up! Visit their website here.
