Few months back, I think I blog about my wish to attain an ‘entry-level’ minimalist lifestyle. I sold my Contax TVS and Olympus XA.
I don’t miss them at all. In fact, my mind feels lighter. Then, I also intended to sell the Hasselblad 500C/M. But before that, I lend it to a friend for 3 weeks. During that period, I miss the Hassie so badly. So, I guess I won’t be letting it go anytime soon.
I gotta admit, I still have the urge to buy new camera every now and then. Especially after randomly seeing those camera porn on Instagram.
I had the urge to get Pentax 67, Contax T2, Plaubel Makina and many more LOL.
Occasionally, I will go to eBay and browse around. Sigh, obviously I still haven’t attain ‘camera zen‘.Thankfully, I didn’t succumb to the temptation because I remember all the mess in my mind when deciding which camera to use and the remorse when I didn’t use camera A over camera B.
Furthermore, I also remember the pain of seeing my money gone just to service the cameras due to negligence.
Most importantly, I remember seeing a photo by a skillful photographer who doesn’t use fancy camera but manage to get breathtaking shots.
- More cameras, more problems
- More cameras, less savings
- Expensive camera doesn’t equate to expressive photos
So, I hope this short blog post might spark some sort of sympathy in you. It’s totally okay to splurge on cameras as long as you are genuinely happy doing that.
