Just now while having lunch with colleagues, we mentioned how time flies that this week is the last week of year 2016.
As 2016 is coming to an end, I would like to summarise how my year goes in this post.
Year 2016 is pretty okay. In January, I started my first full-time job as a Research Associate, after 6 months of official graduation in June 2015. Looking back, I was quite emotional being jobless. Why didn’t I enjoy myself to the fullest since everything will fall in place nicely in the end? Later on, my maternal grandpa passed away, ending his physical suffering. He left while all his children were around his bed.
In February, I brought home a cat, her original name was ‘Chunky’, which my mum cannot read properly so later renamed to ‘yee meow’. She’s as cute and playful as ever, and very attached to my mum. Moving forward, me and my dad met an accident where a bloody driver claimed that she did not see our motorbike in the roundabout. I suffered just bruises on my leg but my father had several wounds on his face. Thankfully, we are alive. However, I still have phobia on the road.
In April, my other half in UK received a great news to have interview (sponsored trip) in Singapore for PhD programme. We met for the first time after 6 months. In June, I started my pergimana.com travel blog as I love writing but it is quite dead now because I found out it is not my style to go travel and record everything, it’s the pain in the ass. I prefer freestyle travel. In June as well, I went back to UK to visit my other half. We had a great time in Fort William taking the Harry Potter train.
In July, my other half was officially being offered a scholarship to pursue PhD in Singapore, which meant we were ending our one-year long LDR. We moved into our new home in Dover. In August, we celebrated both our birthdays together for the first time.
September, I started film photography and this blog. I am happier with this blog because this is where I treat it like a diary compared to the stupid travel blog. October passed in a glimpse. In November, I brought my mother to Hong Kong, which is to fulfill my wish to bring my parents out travel just like how they brought us when we were kids. My wish is to fully sponsor both parents to an oversea trip.
Now it is December, I just came back from Hong Kong, again. Every trip was the best trip because I really love traveling (who doesn’t).
P/S: I gained lots of weight this year. tsk.
Cheers to a better year ahead, healthy, safe, peace, with more travels, and less money spent on ‘want’ stuff.
