Analogue films entail both surprise and shock. I should be immuned to this but I can’t help feeling upset for a while when my photos on Rossmann 100 came back horrible.
I had previously shot 4 rolls of expired Rossmann 100 and the photos were beautiful. However, this particular last roll of the batch came back as a dismay to me. I was very excited because I had my friend ferried the film to SHOWA Hong Kong for developing & processing. No, my friend did not put it into the check-in luggage. Anyway, let’s look at the photos.
Expired Rossmann 100

This is how the films looked like for the last few rolls:

The Rossmann 100 films are supposed to look normal, if not fantastic. I don’t think it’s the lab’s problem. I guess perhaps that particular film was so overly expired that it produced some weird colour shades/effects. Thankfully, it’s the last roll I have. Now, I am looking forward to using the Fujifilms I bought from Japan!
Happy shooting! And a Merry Christmas!
Love the last few photos esp the cat and MBS!
It seems like the film is exposed from the wrong side, i.e. the emulsion is exposed through the base of the film.
omg, possible. I shall try to scan the film myself. Thank you for your input 🙂
Was this latest roll scanned by the same lab as the previous rolls? If not, it could just be that the first lab did a better job with the scanning. I scanned some old photos that had become quite faded and red like this, and the software did a great job of removing the reddish cast.
Actually I kinda like the reddish effect!
haha!!!! I tot you very OCD one!
